Transforming Home Healthcare Through Innovation And Technology

In this episode of Business Matters, presented by Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union, host Rob Cupello is joined by Kevin Wade, co-founder and Chief Medical Officer, and Jeff Van Dyk, CEO and co-founder of Gravitii.

Gravitii has emerged as a pioneering platform that redefines home care by simplifying communication, appointment scheduling, and overall care management with homecare professionals, all through a personalized dashboard.

Wade’s inspiration for Gravitii stemmed from his experience in healthcare, where he noticed that many patients, despite serious illnesses, preferred receiving care in the familiar surroundings of their homes rather than in a hospital setting.

However, the challenge lies in the insufficient availability of home support care for these patients.

“I wouldn’t want to be here doing the same work as a palliative care physician 20 years from now and think I wish I had tried to fix something 20 years ago,” shares Wade, underscoring his commitment to proactive solutions.

Van Dyk’s background in technology and pursuit of a new challenge harmoniously aligned with Wade’s quest for complementary skills.

Gravitii leverages technology to bridge the gap, creating connections that empower patients and caregivers alike.

The platform grants them more control over their care experiences, matching patients with home caregivers tailored to their specific needs and locations.

Although Van Dyk did not envision his career working in the tech healthcare industry, he says, “It’s my personal endeavour to try and help improve the system in some way using the skills I feel I’m best at.”

Looking ahead, both co-founders share a vision of Gravitii Care expanding its reach across British Columbia and eventually across Canada.
